Nhan Dan – Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hoang Tuan Anh has asked Governmental agencies to make thorough preparation to mark the Hung Kings’ death anniversary and organise the Hung Temple Festival 2010 which will take place from April 14-23 in Phu Tho province.

The request was made at the meeting to prepare for this national event in Phu Tho on March 10.

This year, the Hung Kings’ death anniversary and Hung Temple Festival will last from April 14 – 23 (March 1 -10 according to the lunar calendar). The event is held annually to commemorate Hung Kings, the legendary founders of the country.

The Minister, also the deputy head of the festival’s organising board, asked relevant agencies and local authorities to perform well their roles in preparing for the forthcoming event and ensure the success of the festival.

Particularly, special attention must be paid to the public order and traffic safety during the festival, stressed the Minister. Art performance, an indispensable activity at the festival, should be focused on highlighting the national traditional values, the Minister added.

On the sideline of the festival, many activities including exhibitions, sports and folk games will be held.
